A little slice of life here in Cabo Pulmo:
So there’s this donkey here in town that thinks it’s a dog. It lives down near the beach next to a restaurant called “La Palapa.” Here’s the thing: the name of the donkey is Margarito. He’s a little over a year old, and has lived in Cabo Pulmo his whole life. Margarito actually eats dog food. Margarito’s two buddies are a couple of local dogs named “Vago” and “Kalimba.” I have seen all three of them rolling in the dirt playing with each other, chomping one another, and having all kinds of mock battles. It’s amazing. They have played together since they were born. When there are canine altercations in the neighborhood, the donkey will come to the rescue of his buddies. One of the funniest parts about this dog-donkey friendship is this: according to their owner they all go out at night chasing cats! No joke. Another day in the life of Cabo Pulmo.
Thanks for the glimpse, Cremin! Looking forward to seeing Margarito on our next visit to CP.
